“Do not be conformed any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
Conformity…being just like what you’re around. It’s easy to get sucked into doing things like everyone else without stopping and really evaluating why we do what we do and even if we’re happy with how we are spending our lives.
Two completely different pictures…patterning our lives after the world….or patterning our lives after God. The battle lies within our mind. Is our mind filled with fleshly thoughts (temporary, unstable) or do we have the mind of Christ (eternal, consistent)? We are what we consume.
The majority of people walk through their days without a purpose, without a passion. They don’t know why they are on this earth. Everything seems boring. They wonder if they are even making a difference.
If we renew our minds and have the mind of Christ, we will then know what our purpose is. Our life will have meaning. Life will be fulfilling because we will be living the plan God has for our lives.
One life…two choices…two completely different results…which will you choose?
