It’s the little things that matter.
It’s the thoughtful creation of a simple meal.
It’s putting the phone down, looking in a person’s eyes and delighting in what they are saying.
It’s the hug at the front door with a warm smile that says, “you’re important.”
It’s the text, written note, phone call that says, “I am thinking about you.”
It’s the clean home with special touches that message, “I’m so glad you’re here.”
It’s remembering the special days and celebrating with others.
It’s making the ordinary feel special.
It’s seeing, hearing and loving others – right where they’re at.
How do people feel after they have spent time with us? Do we leave people feeling better or bitter after we have been with them? Do we control our negative feelings and emotions so that we don’t cause others to have a bad day?
Jesus saw what others didn’t see, heard what others didn’t hear, felt what others didn’t feel and went where others didn’t go.
He walked slow enough that a sick woman could reach out and touch him. He noticed the children that others dismissed. He sought out the one. He brought beauty, joy, peace and love to those in His pathway.
Can we take the time to look around and ask ourselves: “how can I bring beauty to this person? …. how can I take the ugly and make it more beautiful? … how can I bring value and worth into what is around me?”
It’s the little things that make all the difference in the world … to that person!
May we continue to live…
Rooted in Him,
