He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.
Isaiah 40:11
In case you were wondering …. the Lord sees you … the Lord carries you … the Lord is concerned for you … the Lord will guide you.
There is so much hope in this passage as we see the heart of the Shepherd to watch over us, guide us away from harm and gently bring us into His safety.
One of my favorite names is Nana. I became a Nana in 2020 and everyone told me how amazing being a grandmother would be. I have to admit I had my doubts. How could I ever love them as deeply as I do my own children? But, they were right. Being a grandmother is the absolute best!
I find myself thinking about my grandbabies all of the time. I have so much joy in every little thing they do. I love watching as they experience new things. I love when they crawl or walk as fast as they can to me. I love it when they find safety in me. I love it when they call me by name. I delight in them completely. Even in their stumbling as they figure life out, even in their emotions, even in their bad days, I just want to be with them. I want them to let me enter into their life.
I think that’s how God is with us. Yes, our lives are messy. Yes, we don’t quite understand things. Yes, there isn’t much we can offer Him. Yet, all He wants is to be in an intimate relationship with us. He rejoices with us and yes … He delights in us.
God sees you, He guides you and He carries you close to His heart!
May we continue to live …
Rooted In Him,
