As I wind down 2015, I get excited about the new year ahead of me. It’s as if I can recreate myself…write my story. Who do I want to be this year? What do I want to accomplish? How do I want to grow? How can I become more like the person God created me to be?
I am reminded of one of the most freeing passages in the New Testament…2 Corinthians 5:17.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
It’s a chance to live
afresh,
anew,
alive!
For me that means less worrying and more praying and releasing! It means finding the joy in everyday life, seeing the good in people, being disciplined in areas that will bring me freedom, simplifying my life of temporary things that bog me down and living in light of eternity. I want to laugh more, cry with those who hurt, bring Christ’s freedom and hope to those around me and remember that my God loves me unconditionally!! I want to open my life completely to God, the author and perfector of my faith, and allow Him to write my story!
