So much of my day is spent doing things. Even my walk with the Lord is spent on doing. I am reminded that what the Lord truly desires of me is to be with Him, to spend time in worship and adoration. I somehow forget that God can accomplish all that needs to be done on this earth through his simple spoken word. By his word, the earth was created, by his word the work on the cross was complete. He doesn’t really need me to fix anything – He does graciously allow me to partner with His kingdom work at times but I know I get so busy that I don’t do the one thing that He truly desires and the one thing He can’t do Himself and that is to worship Him.
I think at times I forget how truly amazing and powerful He is. With the distance that living on this earth brings between me and God, I neglect to remember His awesomeness, His holiness, how beautiful and perfect He is. I am reminded of a powerful worship song called “Worship the Great I Am.” I am challenged as I listen to this song while focusing on the message of the lyrics to spend time in praising the only One that is worthy!!!
