Day after day, I find myself working…doing…planning…moving forward!
Guilt often sets in when I desire to draw away and do nothing…nothing at all!
I am learning the beauty of walking away from the duties and busyness of life and spending time of rest with my Creator.
I see the admonition in Scripture to rest and it’s one of the hardest things for me to do but one that my very soul craves desperately.
Scripture does say to us over and over again the importance of rest. The gentle call from God, almost like the continual flow of the waves of the ocean whispering to our soul to come away and renew ourselves IN Him.
I am ending a week vacation in Maui with my husband. It has been years since we have step away from the many responsibilities and we have never been away for an entire week, just the two of us, without it being work or ministry related.
It has been a week filled with rest, play and exploration which has caused my mind and soul to dream and be renewed.
In a world of striving to get ahead, even with ministry, let us not forget the continual whisper from God,
