I had coffee with a dear friend this morning. It’s a wonderful pleasure that I often do not have the opportunity to experience. As the minutes turned into hours, our conversation covered everything from our families to our life purposes to what’s going on in the world.
In this crazy time we live in, I can definitely see the enemy rearing his ugly head trying to devour as much of God’s creation as possible. I can often feel very unsettled, uncertain as to my future and that of my family. I read this passage in Psalm and my heart was set at ease. Each word in this Psalm is powerful. As I read through it slowly…word by word…I am refreshed and filled with peace knowing that God has all things in His hands. My little place on this earth is not my home. I am a sojourner passing through, awaiting my final destination. This is His promise…this is what I stand on. The Lord will always go before me and He will never leave me. His ways are beautiful and perfect…I will not be shaken!
“I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices. My body will also rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
