Fix Our Eyes

“Therefore we do not lose heart.  Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

What do you see? What lens are you looking through?

Seeing through earthly eyes reveals a dismal picture. Seeing through eternal eyes reveals hope!

Listening to the news, seeing the atrocities that plague our world can cause us to lose heart. If all we are promised is this earth, then there would be reason to be disheartened. However, reading the promises that our home is in eternity where there is no more sorrow or pain, our spirits are renewed.

The enemy would love nothing more than our eyes to be fixed on what we see on this earth for in that state we will become paralyzed and ineffective due to the gravity of evilness around us. However when our eyes are fixed on the promises of God, His character and His power, we see He is at work in the midst of what the world would call hopeless. When Jesus died on the cross, the hope of the disciples seem to die with Him. However, it was through this darkness that Light won the victory. When all seemed lost that is when true victory reigned. When the enemy thought he had won, he had actually lost more than he could ever have imaged. Even as we look at our world and see darkness, in actuality it is now that we will see the glory and victory of God.

His power and authority reigns supreme and nothing can thwart His plan of redemption. As the world gets darker, it only spurs individuals on to find the real answers. No longer is the gray an active participant; it’s only black and white. There is a complete separation being seen between good and evil and no longer can we live in the middle. This is the time of harvest like never before. This is the time to reveal the glory of God to a world that so desperately needs His gift of everlasting life.

In Him, there is hope.

In Him, there is freedom.

In Him, there is redemption.

In Him, there is a beautiful future.

In Him, everything changes!

Fix our eyes on our Savior. Reject discouragement which is only the enemy’s message. Remain lockstep with God. Refuse to be anywhere He is not. Walk in His strength and purposes.

May we continue to live…

Rooted in Him,
